TALES FROM THE BRAT FARMI am still walking-wounded. I CAN stand on the foot, I CAN walk on it albeit gingerly but....it still swells up on me so I wrap it with an ACE bandage and take a couple aspirin to help bring down the swelling. Later, when it has gone down, I remove the bandage so that there's no possibility of a problem with interfering with my circulation or any such thing.
The Beast dropped a bomb on me by saying, *You know my brother is coming tomorrow, right?* I just sighed and said, *No, you never told me he was coming. I suppose he wants to be with you when you go for the chemo?* He nodded *yes*. I just rolled my eyes and said I would get the guest room ready for him.
I asked him to carry the clothes hamper out of our bedroom for me so I could do a load or two of clothes. At least I will have accomplished something for the day. I also have to shower now that I can stand on my own two feet. I just wish the foot felt better overall. No throbbing pain and, when I massage the foot with the gel I have, there's no place that hurts like it's really serious. It's just the discomfort of the foot swelling up on me and not having a really good sense of balance.
Tomorrow I have to pick up Chewlee from preschool but I am a bit afraid of trying to drive if the foot isn't a lot better. I can have the Beast or the Brother drive me there so that doesn't worry me. There's a solution for most every problem I can foresee except.....I need the Beast to get more salami and chips in the house for her.
It's her favorite snack of the month. They change almost as fast as she changes her clothes. She told me that she got sick on purple grapes so she won't eat those any more. She whispered to me that they had seeds in them. I told her I knew that but they were easy to spit out or even swallow. She shook her head *no* and said that was what made her sick...the seeds! She wouldn't let me eat a purple grape either. She got so upset it surprised me. She grabbed it out of my hand and threw it in the garbage and said, very emphatically, *Those will make you sick, Gramdma. You CANT eat them, do you hear?* I grabbed her and gave her a big hug and told her I was really happy that she was worried for me. I said, *Thank you* and she said, *You're welcome.* She then leaned into me and said, *I love you, Grandma*. I told her I loved her, too, and there would be no more purple grapes to make her sick.
I have no idea why she thinks the grapes made her sick but she probably threw them up when her stomach was upset so that's why she thinks the grapes did it. This too shall pass and, sometime in the future, she will be eating purple grapes again. I don't usually buy them, the Beast does. I prefer to have the seedless green grapes in the house. However, since he is into eating healthy these days, he's buying a lot of fruits and veggies. I approve of that because I believe a lot of foods aren't really good for us with all the hormones and chemicals they use. It's why I don't like eating a lot of the beef out today and even the chicken is suspect. I've seen some incredibly huge legs and thighs that make me wonder what the hell kind of chicken they came from!!!! Somehow, I don't believe chickens keep growing with age so they aren't OLD chickens. No farmer could survive keeping chickens that long.

At least I can give the Brother a list of questions to ask the doctor for me and he'll do it. I won't be able to go, I know, and this takes a lot of stress off me. He will make sure to take care of his brother almost as well as I would.
Got to go now. Looks like rain outside so I may lose my internet connection. Love you all. Pray for those poor people in Oklahoma that are being hit by tornadoes and any other places that might be in the line of fire. Try to have a great day.
