  • GODZILLA ATTACKS ALABAMA!

On New Year's Eve, under cover of a terrible thundering storm, Godzilla attacked the city where Bratsis lives.

    I KNOW!

Havoc was wreaked upon the poor citizens of wherever the heck it is that Bratsis lives.

The details are still sketchy, as most of the reporters are hungover from the mad partying they were doing when the terror began.  Add to that the fact that they woke up with hair hurting and we won't even mention the clean-up needed from..... well, let's just say upset stomachs.

The upshot of all this is that [OMG] BRATSIS IS WITHOUT HER INTERNETS.

And probably will be for a couple of days, at least.

Now, I talked to her on the phone and she tried to tell me some story about their satellite dish having to be re-aimed but I know she was just trying to keep the sordid details of the Godzilla attack from me because she is afraid that I would panic.

    Heh.  As if.

At least they can still get tv.  It's just their Internets that were affected.

So, please forgive her for not being here.  I'm sure when she returns that she will have many amusing stories to tell us.

Now I must go because Pogo doesn't play itself, you know.

    Take care, everybuddy!

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!

    TALES FROM THE BRAT FARM

I hope no one over-indulged last night and that you got home safely.  Being older and wiser (plus our heyday is behind us), we stayed at home.  I had Chewlee so that the Princess and Johnnycakes could go out and have fun.  I hope they did.  Sheepie got to stay out until 1am since it was New Year's and Teach said he would take good care of her (I think they were spending it at his house...with his parents...LOL.).

I made us some fried fish (tilapia filets), baked potatoes and fresh steamed veggies for our dinner and Johnnycakes dropped off Chewlee, in her jammies, shortly after the Beast and I cleaned up the kitchen.  Chewlee spent about an hour telling us about how she cleaned her room today.  She said it took her all day.  She also told us that she put all her toys in her closet like Mommy makes her do and, when she was done, *daddy* closed her bedroom door and wouldn't let her go in there.    I have no idea if that was true or not but he had to have done something like that since I know Chewlee.  I told her if he didn't want her in there any more, it was probably because he didn't want her to mess it all up again.  That just made her tell me again how she cleaned up her room and it took her all day.  I just laughed.  I told her if she cleaned it up every day, it wouldn't take her all day long.

She told me she had eaten dinner at mommy's house and now she wanted some snack food.  She told me that she had seen some in my *frigifrator*.  She pulled my hand and told me, *Come on....I'll show you it.*  When we got to the fridge, she pulled on the freezer side door and said, *See?  Popsicles.*  I told her I don't think that popsicles qualify as snack food AND they were in the freezer, not the fridge.  She looked at me like I was brain-damaged and said, *Yes, popsicles are for snacks, Gramma*.  She then told me not to give her the orange because they were *papa's*.  The Beast, who was listening to all this as he sat at the table, told her, *Yes, they are mine and how come you didn't ask me if *I* wanted one?*  So, of course, then she urged me to get an orange one for Papa and she ran over to give it to him, telling him, *I'm sorry, Papa.*The Beast, ever gracious, told her it was okay but not to let it happen again.

I told her, kidding, that I wasn't happy because my Penguins of Madagascar wasn't on TV so she ran over and got the DVD movie *Madagascar* because it has the penguins in it.  I thought that was so cute of her.  We sat and ate popcorn (she helped me make it, if you ask her...she accompanied me and had to see everything I was doing) and watched DVD's until it was time to put her to bed.  I admit I let her stay up a bit later than usual (9:30pm) but finally put her down for the night in the guest room.  It's going to be a surprise for Sheepie when she gets home, let me tell you.  I think Chewlee is sleeping on HER favorite side of the bed.

So, Bratfink and I were IM-ing and making jokes about Chewlee, the boy and the day.  Oh, there was another funny thing that happened.  Chewlee went to see what Papa was doing (which I try to discourage if he's playing Hearts on the computer) and she came running back into my room, breathless and said, *Gramma!  Papa said DAMMIT!*.  I told her that was why I didn't like her in there with Papa when he was playing his game.  Bratfink laughed and said I should teach her to say *potty mouth* and leave the room.  I laughed but I wonder.......!

Anyway, Happy New Year everyone.  Love you much and thank you so much for stopping by here from time-to-time.Thank you, Janey from Texas for your comments.  It's nice to know who stops by that ISN'T family members.    Plus, please take care of yourself.  I'm glad you are out of the hospital and doing well.  Enjoy the football games today and I wish you a speedy recovery if you over-indulged.
