Overeating Early :))
TALES FROM THE BRAT FARM
We all overeat (and know it) during the Holiday Season but I didn't want to start so early. But today the Beast threw our ham in the oven so I just had to make mashed potatoes and gravy. Then he decided to make a surprise dessert....he made some sweet biscuits, cut up strawberries and remembered to buy whipped cream so guess what dessert was? OY! I have a stomach ache right now. That'll teach me.
Chewlee left her backpack on the bus so there was no way I could confirm what she got for her day today. I know the backpack will be turned in at the school and I believe the Princess has the teacher's cell phone number so she will be able to find out. I tried the *Santa knows* card but she still insisted (to me) that she got a smiley face. We'll see.
Tara stopped by today and was all worried about her mother who had that tumor on her neck. It was removed and she's fine now...with that but the doctor found a spot on her lung she's worried about. I told her that there's only a few things they will do about that. Take a needle biopsy...wait for a bit to see if it gets bigger...test to make sure it's not TB. They won't just jump in and do surgery without knowing what the spot is. Sometimes the spots are from something like Valley fever but I haven't heard of that being a problem in Florida. She's going to call her mother tonight (if she hasn't already) now that she knows she has her voice back since I talked to her a couple weeks ago.
Tara borrowed our big suitcase for her son, Keith, to use when he goes to visit his father. She bought him his ticket today since she's decided she just can't cope with a long drive during the Holidays after all. I rather think it's just that this is the first Christmas without Kevin and she would rather not rain on anyone's parade while she tries to cope with it. Whatever she needs to do, it is what it is and I'm here for her if she just wants to be held and rocked. I imagine Chance will spend at least a few hours with his dad, Tonto, so she will have any alone time she needs.
Me? I'll be here with the Beast, alone, with his *bah-humbug* spirit gone wild. Luckily, I can shut myself into my room, hopefully with a bottle of vodka and some mixer and can just chill while I play some games online. I'm not making a Christmas dinner since the family here is kind of fractured this year. I'm sure my Chewlee and the Princess will stop by for a bit on their way to Johnnycake's grandmother's house. That way, they don't have to worry about rushing from one place to another. Christmas should be a day to relax and enjoy good company, don't you think?
Well, I'm going to go rest this full belly and hope I feel better shortly. I need to take a decongestant, too. Damn nose won't stop running around the house with me. Love you all. Have a great weekend.
