  • Sometimes I'm Not Sure If He's Kidding.....

    TALES FROM THE BRAT FARM

Like most men with a new *toy*, the Beast has been spending a lot of time in it's company plus he has been reading the usual booklet that comes with the car.  Today he spent a little more time than usual with the booklet just reading about things in general.  When he came into my room to put it away in the bookcase, he said, *When I use up the gas in this tank, we are taking the car back and trading it in.  There is a lot of stuff it comes with that we don't have.*  I just gave him THAT look because he could actually do something as stupid as that would be.  I kid you not.  He's THAT in love with the features on the car that we DO have.  Scary.

Chewlee came home from school today and had to run in to show me that she still had a little bit of her face paint on her and some sparkles in her hair.  When she is done with them, she really doesn't want any remnants left so, of course, her mother put her into the bathtub right away and got her hair washed well.  It took me forever to get her out of the tub.  Once her hair is washed, it's her play time.  Today she was playing with the little tiny figures I told you about the other day.  They all seem to have come from the Little Mermaid cartoon or at least most of them.  I swear some are from Sponge Bob and others from Nemo.  She has about 20 different ones so she was very busy (and vocal) playing out some scenario from her imagination.  That's when it's tough to get her out of the tub.

When I finally DID get her out, she and I went toe-to-toe over her pajamas.  She didn't want to wait for me to find her matching bottoms so she ended up with a cute pink top and some garish green bottoms.  She looked like such a little waif.  When the Princess got back from the store, she got a pair of the new pajamas she and the paternal grandfather bought for her the other day.  They are a size 5 and slightly big but she will grow into them within a few months.  They were Xmas ones and really cute.  Chewlee complained at first that they were too big but like the looks of them so she stopped and just admired them in the mirror.

Assholecakes has been acting more like Johnnycakes in recent days and treating Chewlee well.  The Princess seems to think he's changed because he misses them and needed to find that out.  Me?  I'm sorry but I know that they can change temporarily in order to come out the winner but the change will not last.  The Princess should stop listening with her hormones and step back away and realize this is all an act on his part.  No matter what, I know this will not end up well.....again.

The Beast said he was pretty sure she was just horny but he doesn't like it any more than I do.  His actions regarding Chewlee were too pointed.  You either love a kid or you don't.  He had plenty of time to *miss* her all the time I was watching her while he was out whoring around with his buddies.  You can't have your cake and eat it too.  He knew right from Day One that the Princess and Chewlee were a package.  You don't accept PART of a package.

Love you all much.  Have a great day (it's Hump Day...halfway through the week).  Smile for no reason at all.  It confuses everyone around you.

  • There ARE Benefits To A Good Letter Of Complaint

    TALES FROM THE BRAT FARM

I just had to add this little bit of information because I was so surprised.  There have been only two times that I have made what really was a complaint but I wrote it up as feeling the company should be informed about this problem.  I then outlined what it was and added that they will probably hear from others about the problem and they may need to let quality assurance know about it.

The first time it was to the manufacturer of Activ-On because ours began to break down and it hadn't been subjected to any big variations in heat or cold and was just a year old.  I told them it didn't have an expiration date or *use by...* date so there was a problem.  Result?  A nice thank you letter (yes, via snail mail since I did add my name and address to the email) and two certificates for free replacement products.

Then, my second incident involved Curad adhesive tape.  I use a lot of it because I change the dressings on my toes twice a day.  A new roll was purchased two days before I went to use it and discovered there was NO adhesive on the tape.    I wrote a very nice email to the company in the same vein as the one to Activ-On.  I got an email back saying quality assurance would be contacting me within 5 business days.  Well, today I received a nice letter from them AND....12 rolls of adhasive tape.    Now THAT is a really great company!

I'm going to try it with Bissell.  My steam cleaner (the third one we've owned in about 7 years) has developed the same problem that forced us to replace it.  When we had our company and lots of income, that wasn't a big deal.  However, now it is.  PLUS...this is obviously a serious flaw in the steam cleaner.  It's their top-of-the-line product.  It's out of warranty and the closest repair place for it is all the way in Birmingham.  That's a hell of a drive and I'm sure not paying the postage it would cost.  So, now I think I will just write the company and see what happens.  I'd be happy with a repair.  I'll let you know what they have to say IF I hear back from them.

    Love you all.
