The Beast And Amazon Dot Com
TALES FROM THE BRAT FARMIt was a nice day around here today. I slept well until almost 10 am.
I know! But my foot seems to get a lot better with good sleep and most of it was good. When I got up, I was annoyed that the Beast hadn't made fresh coffee but there was enough left in the pot from last night for a cup for me. I just heated it up in the microwave and went to my room.I did my usual going through my email, reading the news online (including the boring local news...LOL) and then knew I needed a fresh cup of coffee. I hadn't heard the Beast get up from his computer so I took a deep breath and headed for the coffee maker. I started it going and the Beast came out from his room and actually said this to me: *Did I hear the sound of you making coffee? * He then laughed and said, *Ah hah! I outwaited you!* I shot him a dirty look since he had been up for HOURS. I saw his spot was empty around 7am when I got up to go to the bathroom. I thought about getting up but I was so comfy for a change, I said hell no and went back to bed.
After the coffee was made and poured, the Beast and I exchanged a few words about what our day was going to be like and then went back to our computers. He was doing some research on camera lenses so I wasn't surprised when he came into my computer room and asked to use my computer for a minute to check something out. After he showed me what he was checking, even *I* was shocked. On a search for this particular lens, he showed me the ad by Amazon dot com and the price. When we clicked on it, it came up but while we watched the price changed and went UP $11. He told me he wanted to see if it was just the fact that he has bought other camera equipment and Amazon might have his computer *bugged* so that it adds money to it when he shows an interest in something. This is not the first time that has happened to him. I reminded him that camera equipment prices have always been volatile and some places made you call to get the *price of the hour* as I called it. What's funnier is it went up another dollar and we were talking. Later on, the Beast walked into my room and said to me, *Check the price on that lens for me. When it hits $500, I want to buy it!* He was joking, of course, but it has made Amazon suspect in his mind. And, to tell the truth, mine, too.
No Chewlee today although that almost wasn't true. The two girls that usually work the *to go* orders (and window) had both called in and weren't going to be able to work. Friday is a busy day for the restaurant in take outs so they were really worried. They tried calling another girl that normally worked there but had to leave a message. If they couldn't get a hold of her or if she couldn't come in, then the Princess was going to have to stay. She called me to let me know. I was halfway prepared for that because I had a dream that the Princess dropped her off and I even said something like...but it's Friday....it's not my day! But, they ended up getting a hold of the girl and she was happy to come in and work.
The Beast decided to pick up something for us to eat while he was out testing this new set up for his camera and one of his lenses. I really don't know all the details. I'm just not that interested. But he brought home some fried shrimp dinners and it was wonderful. I didn't realize I had a taste for them or that I was as hungry as I was. I made a real pig out of myself. It was 10 fried shrimp of a decent size, some cole slaw, and french fries. It really hit the spot. I stopped folding clothes immediately and ate slowly and carefully until I was full. I ate all the shrimp, a few of the fries and most of the cole slaw. Captain D's has some good cole slaw and I enjoy it when we eat there. Not many places have good cole slaw.
Time to get this posted and finish folding all the Beast's underwear and socks. I will need to do more wash tomorrow and I want to change the linens on my bed....it will just be a day earlier than I usually do it but who's keeping track? Chewlee will be here and it's a long day for us together. I will let her help me and she will be thrilled. She loves to *do housework*. I can give her the dustmop or broom and she can keep herself busy all damn day.

Love you all. I wish you a wonderful Saturday. Try not to work too hard (I know about weekends when you work outside the home). It all makes me glad I am retired now and just stuck with the housework part of a woman's world. But, I'll admit the Beast is starting to be extremely helpful. When I am sick, he finds out how much fun it is....NOT!

Be good but try to have some fun anyway.
