More On Tornado Aftermath Living (?)
TWISTER TALES FROM THE BRAT FARMWish I could say the worst was over and things were getting back to normal but that's just not so. We, however, have adjusted to it a bit although I have a new understanding of why the pioneers had their *early to bed* ethic. Once it's dark, it's boring. And trying to do anything by candlelight (or flashlight) isn't easy on the eyes or the shins, trust me on that.
Our diet sucks so we are taking vitamins and the Beast bought us some whey to add to our list of supplements. I haven't tried it but he did and said it would probably be great added to a milkshake although he didn't find it bad in just regular milk. He kept having to stir it, I noticed. I'm in no hurry since I thought whey was used more for weight gain and body builders but I could be wrong. I have to check it out.
I actually washed a load of clothes today and hung the clothes out to dry. We have a nice breeze going so it shouldn't take long for them to dry. I am sure, however, that hanging clothes on a line is why ironing stuck around for so long. I really, really miss my dryer.
I'm trying to keep a normal schedule as much as I can under the circumstances. Sheets get changed today even tho' I can't wash the old ones. I am using a set that Bratfink sent me as an early birthday present and they feel wooooooonderful!!!!!!!!! I think I'm going to love them.
Chewlee is here and she thinks the house is fixed because we are watching a dvde while the Beast watched Miami Heat play on tv with the generator going. But it won't be on much longer so I will close this for now. Love you all and please pray for us all here in Alabama. There is so much tragedy here and people that have lost everything they owned plus family members, too.
