  • Tales Of The Great White Hunter!

    TALES FROM THE BRAT FARM

I've been nudging the Beast so much about our lack of deer meat that today he actually packed up and headed out to be in the woods at dusk.  Of course, it came to nothing but...he did find a deer path with fresh scat on it so he knows it's an active crossing.  It happens to cross a forest ranger access road and, in truth, it was pointed out to him by another hunter he ran across.  An old Alabama boy and legitimate hunter.  When the Beast asked him how he would get his deer back to his truck, he pointed to his cell phone and said, *I just call my two grown sons and they come to help me.*  The Beast asked him if he could have his phone number.  He was just kidding but I'll bet if the guy had given it to him, it would be there under *Help*.

The old guy offered the Beast a bit of advice and told him to get himself some deer urine to put on the pathway so he wouldn't be sitting up on the hill waiting for nothing.  He said if he put down the deer urine, they WOULD come.  So, depending on the weather, I guess the Beast will be going out tomorrow afternoon.  He only has a few more days to the deer season and then he's got to hang it up until next November.

We are supposed to have some kinky weather coming in tomorrow night and it will last us until Wednesday night.  Cold, rain and possible snow.  It's not exactly conducive to the Beast going out for a kill but you never know.  Men and their pride.

I'm trying to get this bias tape pinned on the cut edges of the bedspread so this is going to be kind of short tonight.  I want to get this done if I can but it's going to be a bit of a nightmare handling it since it's so bulky.  It would be worse if I hadn't cut off what I did but it's going to be a much better fit.  I'm absolutely sure now that this was a mismarked size bedspread.  When I put it on after I cut off part of it, it fit so much better.  It even looks better than it did.

Now all I need is for the balance to show up and my bedroom will be all set.  So, adios for now.  Love you all and please stay safe and warm.
