Watch Out Park Ranger....You Lied!
OMG...I woke up this morning and my leg muscles decided to punish me for that walk yesterday. I kid you not. My calf muscles are so tight and so are my thigh muscles but on the FRONT. So I walk like a Frankenstein monster trying to get them to loosen up and forgive me my transgression. I promise you, this will NOT happen to me again. I told the Beast NO MORE. If he's crazy enough to do it, he can do it alone or bring along the dog. He tried to tell me there was a waterfall in Gadsden we could go see and there was no walking to see it. I know he's lying. He's just trying to fool me into going with him. No way, shape or form. Not this gal. I may have been born at night but it was not LAST NIGHT.
And I swear to you, if I ever see that ranger that said it was an easy trail for someone with a bad leg, I am going to run him over with the car.....several times. Easy my ass! At one point, I considered just laying down and dying. And we were not hurrying at all. It was just torture. WATCH OUT PARK RANGER!!! I'M COMING TO GET YOU...if I can ever walk normal again. I wouldn't even attempt to drive in this condition. Flex my ankle? Not in this lifetime if I don't get over this. And there's that fear, too. Will I? Won't I? OMG...please, please. I'm too young to walk like I am so old.
Everything was a chore because of my legs. Getting up and down from a chair. Going to the bathroom! Standing wasn't bad but my back was giving me hell, too. I couldn't win for losing. Even the pain pills didn't help. I'm hoping another good nights sleep works because, lord help me, I get Chewlee early tomorrow morning and all day long because the Princess has to close.
I actually made some chicken soup today. That was easy because I got the carrots sliced from the produce department and that is what always takes the most time. It was chop up an onion, chop some celery and dump it into the broth (which was from boiling chicken). I didn't, however, make homemade noodles. Too labor intensive when my legs are stiff and sore. I tried a bath. It helped for all of five minutes, I think. Long enough for me to walk out to the mailbox and back. I had to climb down four stairs and then up the stairs. I did it all without more than a wince. Then I sat down to read some of the mail. That was a BIG mistake. The stiffness and soreness came back with a vengeance.
Even the Beast has suffered. Not actually as much as I did but, like he said, he's been in training for a couple months. I hadn't considered it but he was right. He's been climbing up and down ladders (for painting, replacing the fan lights and the kitchen lighting), kneeling while installing the flooring and a few other things that made him really use his leg muscles. Me? All I have been doing is running after Chewlee (at times) but mostly either playing on the floor with her, reading to her with her sitting in my lap, playing on my computer or taking naps on the floor (and lately, in the recliner). Not much leg exercise there...or endurance other than patience. Patience is fine but not on a hike like THAT.
If I ever get talked into another *adventure*, I swear if we hit another slope like we did at Capey Falls, I will just give the Beast a nudge and let him AND the dog go over the edge. I can always get another dog.
Love you all. Have a great day.
