  • Happy 18th Birthday, Grandson

Today my one and only grandson turned 18 (this is being written on the 27th).  I am stunned at how quickly time has passed.  I can hardly believe it.  In 9 months he will be entering the Marines.  He’s signed up already in what they call Delayed Entry since he is a Senior in high school.  Right after graduation, he will be heading to Parris Island for boot camp.

From what I understand, his recruiter is putting all the delayed entry recruits through some really incredible physical training.  Guys that are now Marines have visited the recruiter and told the boys that Parris will be a breeze compared to what they are going through now.  I’m very proud of him.  So are is parents.  His father is my son Marcus Aurelius and his mother is my daughter-in-law, Raven.

In tribute to his 18th birthday, they put together two videos.  Turn up your sound for the music.  Some of the pictures are duplicated but the second one has different pictures included.  My favorite is the second one because of the song…*The Circle of Life*.  It made me cry a bit.  But if you click on the link, it will take you there.  Happy Birthday, Mark.  I love you!
