It Never Ends With The Beast
TALES FROM THE BRAT FARM
Newest addition to our small and useless appliances? An electric coffee grinder. I kid you not. It arrived today. That’s when the Beast pulled out his surprise. A bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee beans. I just rolled my eyes. Those shelves out in the garage are gonna collapse one day soon, wait and see. His first priority was to make us a fresh pot of fresh ground Dunkin Donuts coffee. I’ll admit, it was very good but…c’mon! It’s just another thing we did NOT need.
Chewlee got another BIG smiley face today from her teacher. She was very lackadaisical about the whole thing. Today the class apparently drew pictures of themselves and each of their classmates (individually) and wrote a sentence about them being a friend. Then they signed their names. The teacher (poor thing) collated it all and stapled them together. Chewlee had to show me and make sure I looked at each page.
It was a normal sleepover day with school tomorrow with one exception. Tonight Chewlee read herself her bedtime story without me sitting next to her. It was totally cute.
BTW, a month or so back I mentioned that the Beast had bought a Marie Callender eggplant parmesan entree. I thought it was kind of dumb of him because I am not really an eggplant person. Today we made it not wanting it to go bad or get freezer burnt for the heck of it. We figured that we had other things to eat if we didn’t like it. I have to tell you this…it was excellent! I was surprised more than anything else. Like I said, I’m not an eggplant fan but I really liked this. It was very tasty and filling, too. Try it if you get a chance.
The Beast isn’t feeling well so he went to bed early…even before Chewlee. Chewlee had gone into the main bedroom and here’s what she told me. *Grandma, I went in your room and papa has the bathroom door closed. I put my ear by it and I heard him going Uhn..oh Uhn… I asked him, Papa, are you all right? And he told me, No, I’m not!*
Knowing the Beast and the noises he makes, I told her he was probably going potty because he makes noises like that sometimes. She didn’t think so (or so she said but she went back in to check). She came back and told me that he was going to bed so I figured either he had diarrhea or was bleeding again from his dangle down. Either way, I’m glad he’s going in early to the doctor’s.
Love you all. I need to get to bed early tonight. We overslept today and the bus went by and woke up the Beast who then had to dress to take Chewlee to school. Chewlee was not totally awake but I got her dressed and gave her a bit of cereal just in case she missed out on breakfast at school (she didn’t). She was mad at me because she missed seeing *her* orangutan show. I had to promise her to be sure to wake her tomorrow morning. I promised her so you know what that means.
Love you all. Hope your week is going well.
