  • Weird Weekend Ahead

    TALES FROM THE BRAT FARM

I am about as tired of writing about our weather as you are probably tired of reading about it.  Imagine my surprise when I was listening to the weatherman on TV and heard that we will be seeing some WARM weather this weekend….possibly as high as in the lower 60′s.    I wonder how many other areas of the country are going to experience the same thing?  Just rhetorical.  I was so surprised when I heard that I went to look for the Beast to tell him about it so I missed the national weather forecast.  After that, I really wasn’t interested.  Just glad we are getting a reprieve of sorts.

I finally got the Beast to agree to plan out where we are going to plant the trees (aka sticks with roots) that I got from the Arbor Society.  It will probably be along the back of the property  because they are going to be difficult for the Beast to spot when he’s mowing.  I’m going to have to put something up as markers for them.  I guess I’ll go to Lowe’s and see if they have something like little flags on metal pins or something.  Something simple but obvious and won’t take up a lot of room.   Maybe I can get him to do it tomorrow or Sunday.

Speaking of tomorrow (Saturday…when you are reading this)….I will be getting my Chewlee for the day.  Or at least until Johnnycakes gets off work and picks her up.  It’ll do since it’s been well over a week since I saw her last.  I’m going to take her with me to Walmart since I need to pick up a couple things the Beast didn’t think of when he went out today.  He got up off his sick bed, got showered and dressed all because his sweet tooth was aching for something…anything.  He came home with a luscious looking carrot cake, complete with cream cheese frosting.  I passed but, trust me, he will have it all eaten by Sunday.  It’s an 8″ round, not one of those blocky ones you usually see….the ones that look like they were made in a bread pan.  Oh, and the frosting?  It has to be more than a half inch thick.  I’m just glad he likes it.  I’ll have to hide it from Chewlee or she will be bouncing off walls in sugar shock.

Well, time to go for the day.  I have a couple things I need to get done before Chewlee gets here in the morning.  Hope you have a great Saturday.  I’ll be watching Monster Movies with Chewlee, I’m sure.  **Grin**  Love you all and hope your weather gives YOU a break, too.

  • You should get “How to Train Your Dragon.” Not only do the kids love it, but I watch it just about every day. Cute, cute, cute! We’re supposed to get into the mid-40s – maybe even into the 50s over the next week. I am so sick of being cold, I’ll probably open all the windows just to get some fresh air in here. Have fun with the baby. I won’t be getting mine until Spring break – I hope! Love to all. B.
