  • Bad News For Us And I Can’t Believe My Ears!

    TALES FROM THE BRAT FARM

Weatherbug and the Weather Channel are rife with the news that we have another storm front headed our way.  It has everything in it….lightning, thunder, lots of rain AND…TORNADOES!!!!   The word is that we should watch out because we will be getting them in our area.    We haven’t even had time to clean up from the last one that blasted through our poor town and now, here we go again!!  Say a little prayer for us.  I will have my weather radio on and tuned to the station that gives us a warning (and it’s enough to wake the dead when it goes off ) if and when a tornado touches down in our area.

As for the other thing:  Have you heard who the United Nations put in charge of monitoring violations of women’s rights??  My jaw dropped to the floor when I heard.  I couldn’t believe that anyone could be that damn moronic.  Ready?   IRAN!!

Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t that the nation that can stone you to death for having a tan?  You heard me right.  You MUST be completely clothed and covered completely AT ALL TIMES.

I have two questions that immediately pop into mind.  One…how do those women manage to get pregnant?  How in the world do you bathe fully clothed?  It’s no wonder that I have heard you can be overcome by the *aroma* of body odor there when there is a gathering of people.  ***Color me green and nauseous***

A nation that does not allow women to be educated (although under the Shah the universities were full of women) any more.  A nation that requires a woman to be dressed in those god-awful burkas or whatever they are called (spelling is phonetic).  Who must cover their faces and cannot carry money.  When they go to the market, they place their order and the husband (or father) must stop and pay for the items and bring them home.  A country where women cannot drive (unless that has changed recently).  Where a man can just send home a wife to her parents and say *I divorce you* and that’s that.  WHAT RIGHTS COULD THEY POSSIBLY RECOGNIZE AS A VIOLATION OF WOMENS RIGHTS??

Somehow, I think some hare-brained idiot thought this would be a learning situation for Iran.  Wrong, wrong, wrong.  The whole idea of that is disgusting and makes me think that they have all lost touch with reality.  What do you think?  Am I wrong?  I’m just so opposed to the whole idea of that AND with the nations that selected Iran that I can’t help but think that the U.N. is totally ineffective because they, too, have gotten wrapped up in trying to be unbiased and *politically correct*.  They need to find out where in the hell they all left their brains and their sense of reason.

Women in the U.S. stood up and fought for their own rights.  We didn’t need the United Nations to tell us what rights.  Besides, have you ever seen a U.N. directive make a whit of difference to anyone?  Anywhere?  Totally ineffective and an insult to our intelligence to put Iran in charge of monitoring violations of women’s rights.  Give me a f**king break here.

Today was my last day of watching Chewlee.  She goes back to pre-school on Monday and, guess what?  The building that housed the school at the church was inspected and certified safe so she goes back to the familiar and there’s no need for them to utilize any of the space offered by other churches.  I am so very glad because it would have upset most of the kids to go to a strange place and have to get used to it.  They are flexible little minds but they really DO like the familiar.  I will go back to picking her up after school for the Princess and having her here for an hour and a half or so until her mother picks her up.

I’m late getting this posted so I will say love you all and close.  Have a great day tomorrow and, remember, say a prayer for us that we don’t get hit by another tornado in this area Saturday.
